Tu Bi Bridge #10 – 40m long and 2m wide
Cà Mau Province
Dear Benefactors;
Tu Bi Foundation is sincerely grateful to our benefactors Concept Solutions, friends from Norway and Vietnam for their help in the gifting project for Lunar New Year in Vinh Long and Binh Duong Province possible. Our purpose is not only provide New Year gift, but to give the association an opportunity persuade parents to not let their children drop out of school. Special for this trip we have sister Phong from Norway tending to the project in person.
In addition to rice, noodles, fish, cucumber, … we also give them prayer beads to encourage them to pray to any religion. In extreme suffering, everyone has dreams …
The association also gave milk for children, slippers, clothes, and mattresses for children to sleep on instead of the floor. The last time when visited, a family asked for a mattress because the new husband just had surgery. We bought a new bed for our family. We feel that this immediate help is practical and is urgent need of the poor. We also visited the children who were escaped from the life gathering trash and are now in care at the temple so they can go to school.
Thankfully Venerable Thich Thien Hue has promised every year that he will bring New Year gift to poor households living near the landfill in Vinh Long.

We were very happy to see these result.
Mr. Phong from Norway gave students candies and “lucky money”. Also, Venerable Thich Thien Hue gave “lucky money” to 17 families.
We sincerely thank you.

Life Near a Landfill – 2016.01.24
Dear Benefactors,
When we hear stories about the lives of those who live using the rubbish we emit daily, we want to do one something to help but we do not know of a practical way to be of assistance.
On 23/12/2015, Lieu Duyen and her friend from Norway visited some families living on the island at Vinh Long that survive by picking up nylon bags from the garbage that we emit daily. At the same time we went to the garbage dump with the workers and gather nylon garbage bags.
Surrounded by pollution, it is difficult to imagine that anyone can survive in such environment. But here there are hundreds of families from parents to children gathering trash. LD only worked with them for 30 minutes and became dizzy with headache. Her hands were swollen from using borrowing their gloves. This direct interaction gave LD an understanding of their difficult life and wish to find a way to help them.

Kindergarten School Inauguration – Ca Mau, Nov 27, 2015
December 09, 2015
Dear Benefactors,
Tu Bi Foundation have have built many kindergarten schools from the North to South – even in the highlands such as Buon Me Thuot. After 20 years of implementing charity projects in Viet Nam, this is the first kindergarten school in which local authorities have agreed to specially name it “Tu Bi” (compassion).
From an abandoned house for many years and collapsed with the slightest touch, now it is a kindergarten school with two class rooms – beautiful and spacious. Even though this is farther remote area in U Minh – Ca Mau province, but everyday there are more kindergarten students and there are no classroom for the children. They have to borrow the state offices to teach the children.
Seeing the interest of local community and after talking to some of the parents with children needing to attend kindergarten but there weren’t any school nearby (they would have to travel by boat or motorcycle). Tu Bi Foundation agree to assist with 45% of the cost and the rest of funds needs to be raised by the local people.
Luckily, the TBF have two benefactors able to help fund the construction of the kindergarten school in Ca Mau, especially Ms. Tuyet and her peers in the charity group were able to buy the bricks/tiles and building materials to save on cost.
We sincerely appreciate all the contributions from our benefactors and volunteers in completing this project. For the local community, this was a miracle and a dream come true.

At the beginning of 2015, we were accompanied by a charity delegation from Europe visiting and giving presents to Vietnamese people in the Cambodian sea area. We see their difficult life and most children were not going to school because they didn’t have birth certificate – we were worried but there was nothing we could do.
Having read the article “People without citizenship at Binh Duong”, we feel that this is something that the Tu Bi Foundation needs to do to help those who have been living in foreign land and have to reside on the border.
In early August, Tu Bi Foundation visited twice with gifts. The charity was led by Venerable Thich Thien Hue from Europe who did not hesitate the difficult trip and arrive with give gifts.
Buddha Mindfulness Hall & Leprosy Hospital – Quy Nhơn City
August 05, 2015
Dear Benefactors,
It was with great happiness that we were able to visit and experience Niệm Phật Đường (NPĐ – Buddha Mindfulness Hall) at the Leprosy Hospital in Quy Nhon on 26/7/2015.
The July heat in Quy Nhon burns as we walk for hours in the afternoon. In particular, this summer charity trip I brought my 17 years old niece, Hoang Quyen, to learn and see the life of poor people compare to our children fortunate “silk” life in the United States (to see is to appreciate and not waste their blessing/opportunities).
Tu Bi Foundation delegates include: Venerable Thich Quang Thuc from Huong Mai Temple, Nhon Hai from Quy Nhon, Lieu Duyen and Hoang Quyen come to the join in the activities at NPĐ in Quy Hoà.
The prayer ceremony took place in a solemn and pure atmosphere with 100 attending Buddhists. We are very touched to receive the smile from each Buddhists. After the ceremony, Venerable teacher shared the Dharma and books to diligent practitioners, accepted the illness in the present, and tried to transform the body and mind through practice and good deeds so that their body/mind are at peace and bless in the future – directing their birth to Buddha’s Pure Land.
At the same time, Tu Bi Foundation donated 200,000 VND to 100 Buddhist regardless of status … and gifted 50 Buddhist robe to the temple.
Tu Bi Foundation sincerely grateful to our benefactors close and far, who have contributed and helped make the program as successful for the patient at Phong Quy Hoa hospital.
Venerable Thích Chúc Thiện from Texas has also promised to visit the NPĐ again in the future. And hopefully from now on, annually Venerable nun Nhu Minh from Hue will come every year with gifts for patients at NPĐ – Quy Hoa.
We hope our benefactors will be happy upon seeing the images below …
Sincerely yours.

Dear Huyen,
I wanted to take a moment to provide you with an update about the work the American Red Cross has been able to do in Nepal thanks to the generosity of our donors like the Tu Bi Foundation. To date, the American Red Cross has raised over $35 million for the people of Nepal. We are so grateful for your generosity without which, our work would not be possible.
More than 36 American Red Cross disaster specialists have already deployed to Nepal to help with response activities ranging from emergency relief to distributing cash to victims to helping the country plan its recovery to providing IT and telecommunications support and remote mapping and information management giving relief workers on the ground the information they need to target where help is needed.
With monsoon season underway, people whose homes were destroyed are sleeping outside in the rain under tarps or in tents. The American Red Cross and the Red Cross global network are providing thousands of families with shelter toolkits – containing saws, nails, hammers, shovels and other items – as well as cash grants to help. In addition to sheltering materials, the American Red Cross continues to deliver vital relief items including hygiene kits, drinking water, blankets and health care supplies.
I’ve included below a link to view our Three Month Nepal Update so you can read more about the work the American Red Cross is doing in Nepal to recover and rebuild.
