Từ Bi Foundation (TBF) is a non-profit organization, established in 1993 by Rev. Thich Nguyen Hanh, abbot of Viet Nam Buddhist Center (VNBC). The title “Từ Bi” was chosen because it represents compassion and loving-kindness. It is operated under the auspices of the VNBC. As a grass-root based NGO, Tu Bi Foundation staffs are 100% volunteers from the United States and Vietnam.
Although Tu Bi Foundation is sponsor by Viet Nam Buddhist Center, it manages its financial account separately. Our volunteer staffs are committed to appropriating all donations as requested with zero expense to their respective donors. Our goal is provide giving hearts with the means to bring hope, opportunities, and happiness to those in need. We feel that humanities future depends on the development of our children and alleviating suffering of those around – a simple cause with fruitful long term effect.
