Tình hình nạn dịch Covid 19 tại Ấn Độ đã bất ngờ làm cho cả thế giới sốc, hoảng sợ, và chạnh lòng xót xa khi thấy chính phủ Xứ Ấn đã chủ quan nên gây ra hậu quả ngày hôm nay. Nhiều hội đoàn khắp nơi đang nổ lực giúp chương trình bình Oxy, xin tuỳ huỷ công đức và cầu nguyện sao cho nạn dịch khắp thế giới được mau tiêu diệt, nhất là Xứ Ấn. Mong sao mọi người, mọi loài khắp thế giới mau có cuộc sống an lành, sức khoẻ. Và các hương linh qua đời vì Covid được siêu sinh về thế giới an lành.
Năm 2020, đợt 1 phong toả tại Ấn Độ vì dịch Covid, Hội Tu Bi đã xây được 15 giếng nước và đã phát thực phẩm 4 lần, giúp trên ngàn gia đình tại các làng chung quanh BODHGAYA, Bihar. Tình hình dịch Covid đang lan rộng khắp Xứ Ấn. nhất là các vùng nông thôn.
Sau khi hoành hành và gây hậu quả nghiêm trọng ở thành phố lớn tại Ấn Độ, dịch Covid-19 tiếp tục tấn công vào vùng nông thôn – nơi vốn thiếu thốn phương tiện chống dịch.

Hiện tại nhiểu tỉnh, thành phố tại Ấn Độ đã bị phong toả cho đến ngày 25/5/2021. Tình hình đi cứu trợ bây giờ rất khó khăn vì bị cấm di chuyển và dịch bịnh vẫn còn cao điểm. Lành thay Tu Bi Foundation đã liên lạc được với quý Sư Cô và Phật tử đang thực hiện các thiện pháp tại Xứ Ấn. Và Hội cũng đã bắt đầu thực hiện chương trình “cứu trợ nạn đói tại Ấn Độ”. Dù đã lên chương trình đến các địa điểm nhưng chính phủ không cho phép thì phải thay đổi giờ phút chót.

Tri ân Tam Bảo, chúng con nguyện phát bồ đề tâm kiên cố: ‘phụng sự chúng sanh, sáng cho người thêm niềm vui, chiều giúp người bớt khổ’, Tu Bi Foundation bắt đầu thực hiện các chương trình cúng dường thực phẩm thức ăn nóng, đến Tăng bảo tại các chùa trong khu Bồ Đề Đạo Tràng và tặng thức ăn nóng đến các trẻ em.
ngày 19/05/2021, HỘI TỪ THIỆN TỪ BI CHÙA VIỆT NAM HOUSTON – TEXAS – HOA KỲ chia sẻ lương thực đến bà con nghèo vùng dịch Ấn Độ.
Kể từ tuần này, mỗi tuần Hội sẽ có 1 ngày cúng dường thức ăn đến các tu viện, hoặc chùa và 1 ngày tặng thức ăn cho trẻ em tại các làng chung quanh BODHGAYA, Bihar.
Chúng con nguyện đem công đức này dâng lên Mười Phương Chư Phật và hồi hướng đến khắp pháp giới chúng sanh đồng phát Bồ Đề Tâm. Đồng thành Phật Đạo.

Kính thưa quý ân nhân và quý đồng hương,
Năm 2017 và 2018, thiên tai thảm hoạ đã liên tục xảy ra khắp thế giới. Mọi sự cố gắng của Tu Bi Foundation dù chỉ là một hạt cát trong biển cả, với ước nguyện làm vơi bớt sự mất mát, khổ đau của tất cả các nạn nhân khắp thế giới. Bản chất khổ đau luôn hiện hữu trong cuộc sống bởi mọi sự vật được tồn tại do duyên khởi. Nhưng không vì thế mà chúng ta có thể ngồi yên không hành động khi thấy nhân loại khắp thế giới đang phải đối diện với tai ương, thảm hoạ; cuộc sống ngày càng bất an khắp mọi nơi ngay cả tại đất nước Hoa Kỳ của chúng ta! Thiện nguyên viên Tu Bi Foundation xin phát nguyện được làm 1 cánh tay của Ngài Quan Thế Âm, thực hiện các thiện pháp trong tinh thần: “Sáng cho người thêm niềm vui, chiều giúp người bớt khổ”. Các chương trình được thực hiện theo thời gian và khả năng của thiện nguyện viên có được nên sự thông báo tin tức có phần chậm trễ, xin quý ân nhân hoan hỷ và cảm thông!

Tu Bi Foundation xin chân thành tri ân quý ân nhân đã tin tưởng và gởi tịnh tài khiến cho chương trình uỷ lạo tại Hoa Kỳ được thành tựu. Nhiều ân nhân đã gởi nhiều lần, cứ mỗi khi biết được Hội Tu Bi sẽ thực hiện các chương trình uỷ lạo tại Hoa Kỳ tại các tiểu bang bị thảm hoạ. Đây là sức mạnh khiến cho thiện nguyện viên của Hội có thêm năng luợng và niềm tin trên con đường dấn thân, hổ trợ cho hạnh bồ tát đạo của tự thân. Chỉ có ‘phước đức của mỗi người, mới có thể giúp tự thân thoát khỏi các tai nạn, thảm hoạ’. Đó là điều mà chúng tôi cảm nhận sâu sắc trong quá trình đi uỷ lạo. Làm sao trả lời câu hỏi của các nạn nhân: “Tại sao nhà kia không bị hư hại mà nhà tôi và các nhà chung quanh bị thiệt hại”. Xin hãy nối rộng vòng tay những khi chúng ta có cơ hội.

Dear Most Ven. Thich Nguyen Hanh & Ms. Le Huyen:
How can we thank friends that we did not know, who came from other states to help our families in need and brought to our community great kindness, love and compassion? Imagine how I felt, receiving a call from you informing me of your plan to provide assistance.
Several weeks ago, you came to our community to assess the damage. This past weekend, you came back to provide generous financial support that will help many.
Perhaps the greater gift was your presence. I think back to the smiles of appreciation and gratitude. I think back to the expressions of thanks and “God Bless You”. Yes, there were tears in the eyes of many. I was teary eyed on several occasions when the emotions overcame the recipients who understood that people cared about them. Some needed caring and compassion as much as the crucial funding.
Love generates love and compassion is passed on through others. I remember the mother, as we were running out of money, who told us that we should take the mothers with children first! There was the young mother that came back to let us know that we gave her too much and although she needed the money as well, she did not want to take something meant for others. She thought we were giving $100. I saw her face when you told her that the amount was correct.
Then there was our young 11 year old hero. We essentially stopped the project to highlight what this young boy did after the storm, going house to house helping others in the neighborhood. This young man will remember for a lifetime, our genuine appreciation for what he did.
Well, I will never forget this past Saturday when you came to visit our Cape Fear area. I may forget the faces of the people you helped and I may forget the details of what we did together. I will never forget the feeling of love and compassion that you brought to our community with your financial support.
It is now something we will need to pass on to someone else, because you gave us a wonderful gift. Your love is still shinning in my heart and mind. We are thankful to you.

Dear friends,
The end of the year is an opportunity for family members to spend time together, instead of being happy with their children and grandchildren, 114 people are alone in quiet rooms of nursing homes during the year-end holidays.
There are many people who can’t walk and/or eat, they spend the entire day watching television or sleeping in bed. It seems that TV has become a close friend of the elderly. Even if they had loss their hearing, but he could see the images. There are many people who are very happy every time they see our group visit. On Saturday morning, December 22, 2018, the volunteer group from Tu Bi Foundation and Vietnam Buddhist Temple (including Venerable Thich Minh Phuoc, Venerable Thich Tam Lac, and bhikkhunī Hue Hoa) visited and gave gifts to 114 people in the nursing home; hoping to bring joy during the holidays. Each gift consists of a wool hat, a pair of socks, a pair of gloves, a toothpaste tube and a card of heartwarming brothers and sisters who are given each hand.
The gifts are not expensive but were wrapped with the love of our brothers and sisters, and hope to bring them smiles and warmth this winter.

Tu Bi Foundation is sincerely grateful to our benefactors Concept Solutions, friends from Norway and Vietnam for their help in the gifting project for Lunar New Year in Vinh Long and Binh Duong Province possible. Our purpose is not only provide New Year gift, but to give the association an opportunity persuade parents to not let their children drop out of school. Special for this trip we have sister Phong from Norway tending to the project in person.
In addition to rice, noodles, fish, cucumber, … we also give them prayer beads to encourage them to pray to any religion. In extreme suffering, everyone has dreams …
The association also gave milk for children, slippers, clothes, and mattresses for children to sleep on instead of the floor. The last time when visited, a family asked for a mattress because the new husband just had surgery. We bought a new bed for our family. We feel that this immediate help is practical and is urgent need of the poor. We also visited the children who were escaped from the life gathering trash and are now in care at the temple so they can go to school.
Thankfully Venerable Thich Thien Hue has promised every year that he will bring New Year gift to poor households living near the landfill in Vinh Long.

The dream of being able to go to school for Viet children without citizenship from Cambodia have been fulfilled. In only two months they are able to read and well behave. They’re always polite and courteous.
We were very happy to see these result.
Mr. Phong from Norway gave students candies and “lucky money”. Also, Venerable Thich Thien Hue gave “lucky money” to 17 families.

Life Near a Landfill – 2016.01.24

When we hear stories about the lives of those who live using the rubbish we emit daily, we want to do one something to help but we do not know of a practical way to be of assistance.
On 23/12/2015, Lieu Duyen and her friend from Norway visited some families living on the island at Vinh Long that survive by picking up nylon bags from the garbage that we emit daily. At the same time we went to the garbage dump with the workers and gather nylon garbage bags.
Surrounded by pollution, it is difficult to imagine that anyone can survive in such environment. But here there are hundreds of families from parents to children gathering trash. LD only worked with them for 30 minutes and became dizzy with headache. Her hands were swollen from using borrowing their gloves. This direct interaction gave LD an understanding of their difficult life and wish to find a way to help them.

At the beginning of 2015, we were accompanied by a charity delegation from Europe visiting and giving presents to Vietnamese people in the Cambodian sea area. We see their difficult life and most children were not going to school because they didn’t have birth certificate – we were worried but there was nothing we could do.
Having read the article “People without citizenship at Binh Duong”, we feel that this is something that the Tu Bi Foundation needs to do to help those who have been living in foreign land and have to reside on the border.
In early August, Tu Bi Foundation visited twice with gifts. The charity was led by Venerable Thich Thien Hue from Europe who did not hesitate the difficult trip and arrive with give gifts.
